When it comes to planning an event, lighting is often an afterthought. However, lighting can play a crucial role in creating the atmosphere and setting the tone for your event. From creating a romantic ambiance to energizing a crowd, here are some tips for using lighting to set the mood for your event:

Consider the Venue

Is it an outdoor space or an indoor space? Are there any architectural features or natural elements that you want to highlight? Understanding the space and its limitations will help you choose the right lighting elements to enhance the overall atmosphere. These factors will also determine what is possible for us to safely install so expect us to ask a few questions before tailoring a quote just for you.

Choose the Right Color Temperature

Color temperature refers to the warmth or coolness of a light source, measured in Kelvins (K). Choosing the right color temperature can help set the mood for your event. Warm white lights (around 2700K) create a cozy and inviting atmosphere, while cool white lights (around 5000K) create a more energized and focused environment. Most of our lighting is Warm white as a standard however feel free to chat to us about your specific needs for your event.

Use Uplighting to Highlight Key Features

Uplighting is a technique that involves placing lights on the ground and aiming them upwards to highlight key features of the venue. This can include architectural elements like columns or walls, or natural elements like trees or foliage. Uplighting can create a dramatic and dynamic effect, and is perfect for adding depth and dimension to the space.
